Kidspiration!

  1. Emily -- you have some wonderful insights on WHAT you'd like to learn about technology -- things that I am still hoping that we can learn as we proceed with our educational trek to becoming teachers!

Also, I think you need to incorporate the oboe into your 4/5 class -- who WOULDN"T want to do a sing-along with an oboe?

  2. I noticed to things about your technology comments. One is the question about kids and the web. That question is always out there and a hard one to answer. How can the kids use only appropriate web sites and still get the global knowledge they will need to become tech savvy adults. The other thing that struck me about your comments was the time consumption aspect of technology. I feel if a teacher is trained properly and uses technology often, it becomes 2nd nature just like them using their tools in the classroom now. I hope to see one day where the whole classroom is 100% technology driven with the need for paper, books, or anything else. I know people gawk at this but we have the TECHNOLOGY, and we should using it so new innovations and ideas can be discovered.

  3. I completely agree with Elisabeth's oboe sing-along comment, the students would love it! I like that you mentioned how many times learning to use technology and working out it's kinks sucks up a lot of time, leaving you with less time to use it for actual instruction. Although many forms of technology seem like they would be great to integrate into your curriculum, it is important to be aware of all that it involves!
